Dermaesthetics of Beverly Hills, Inc. carries a complete line of professional treatments to fulfill any skin type or condition’s needs. Peeling and exfoliation is the process of removing the oldest dead skin cells that cling to the skin's outermost surface. When done correctly, exfoliation leaves the skin feeling smoother, fresher, can assist in normalizing hyperpigmentation, reduce the appearance of scars, and assist the penetration of essential skin care products.

The skin is constantly generating new skin cells at the lower layer (the dermis) and sending them to the surface (the epidermis). As the cells rise to the surface they gradually die and become filled with keratin. These keratinized skin cells are essential because they give our skin its protective quality. But they are constantly sloughing off to make way for younger cells.

As we age, the process of cell turnover slows down. Cells start to pile up unevenly on the skin's surface, giving it a dry, rough, dull appearance. This is also what causes many of the signs of aging. By exfoliating to remove the top layers of skin, the skin is forced to renew itself much faster and the result is younger looking skin. Exfoliation is beneficial because it removes those cells that are clinging on, revealing the fresher, younger skin cells below. The same action loosens and clears out the pores, which results in an improvement in acne, blackheads and congested pores. Also when the skin is challenged to turn over faster, the damaged areas which cannot renew themselves as fast as healthy new cells are replaced with healthy new cells, resulting in reduced damage. The faster cell renewal rate also stimulates the production of Collagen and Elastin, which decreases with age. These very important components of the skin are the padding and elastic located just below the top layer of skin in the dermis layer.

The key to successful results is a pre-planned course of treatment, and slowly building up exfoliation strength over time. Gradually building up to higher strengths of acids ensures long term results, and a decreased risk of skin sensitivity or damage to the skin’s barrier function.

Concept 1

Plan of Treatment

Our Plan of Treatment concept is designed to educate professionals on the importance of alternating the client’s treatments with each visit. Each Plan of Treatment is for a period of 6 visits to get the maximum results in their skin care needs.

Concept 2

Multi-Layering with a Purpose

Dermaesthetics strongly believes that not everything the skin needs is in one product. Multi-Layering with a Purpose allows the professional to apply several different products onto the skin for maximum results by educating the professional on product knowledge and professional application that will benefit the client’s individual skin care needs. Dermaesthetics has created a  concept that will create positive results and client satisfaction. This concept is the Dermaesthetics Plan of Treatment. Think of your last visit to the doctor. A nurse came into the treatment room and assessed your symptoms. She noted your information on a chart, the doctor thereafter came in a few minutes later to examine, and he then tells you what he thinks and recommends a PLAN OF TREATMENT on your condition. Most people would not question their physicians recommendation and would return for all follow-up appointment. Likewise, as professional skin care providers, we believe the same care and analysis is needed. There are several benefits from adopting the Dermaesthetics’ approach:

  1. Altering of acids used on the skin to stimulate healing of the skin
  2. Loyalty of the client
  3. Client follow-up
  4. Affordable cost to the client
  5. Home care regimen

The plan of treatment begins with a visit to the clinic. The clinician takes the place of the nurse and the physician. An initial consultation and examination of the skin is given and close attention is paid to the skin type and conditions. The clinician then recommends a series of treatments. A preliminary treatment is then given, a home care regimen  recommended, and a follow up visit is scheduled to check the status of the treatment and to tend to any concerns the client may have. An aspect of skin care and professional responsibility that many professionals often forget is to advise their clients of home care treatment. Home care is as vital to the process as the treatment itself. Without it, the  skin lacks the necessary supplements and nutrition to properly restore itself post treatment.
